Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics and Warehouse Operations manager to lead and manage all aspects of warehouse and logistics operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and optimizing overall warehouse efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling inbound and outbound shipments, overseeing vendor relations, managing warehouse staff, and ensuring compliance with company safety standards and industry regulations. Additional responsibilities include logistics planning, vehicle maintenance, rate negotiations, and ensuring that the team operates efficiently, even during high-demand periods.

The Logistics and Warehouse Operations manager will work closely with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless coordination and timely deliveries.

Logistics and Warehouse Operations manager will take a proactive role in identifying, analyzing, and improving operational inefficiencies in the warehouse. The candidate will lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, focusing on reducing costs, increasing productivity, and enhancing the material flow within the facility. This role requires the ability to drive data-driven improvements and implement technological advancements that align with the overall goals of the supply chain

While this role primarily operates Monday through Friday, occasional Saturday work may be required based on business demands. This position reports directly to senior management and involves a hands-on approach, particularly in managing operations during key team members' absences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of logistics and warehouse personnel.
  • Develop, standardize, and optimize material handling, storage, shipping, receiving, and inventory processes.
  • Lead warehouse layout design and system integration.
  • Assess and recommend technological solutions (e.g., WMS – Warehouse Management Systems, TMS – Transportation Management Systems) to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce manual labor.
  • Implement automation.
  • Ensuring seamless workflows and material flow improvements through lean, Six Sigma, and engineering methodologies.
  • Oversee daily operations, including order and shipment status, inventory management, warehouse capacity, 3PL performance, and order fulfillment rates, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Verify and monitor any price freezes for transportation rates (e.g., dollars per mile) to ensure budget adherence.
  • Lead the bidding, negotiation, and selection process for third-party logistics (3PL) providers, including those handling Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Full-Truckload (FTL) shipments. Oversee 3PL contracts and performance to ensure cost-efficiency, service quality, and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with drivers to ensure deliveries are made on time.
  • Cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure regulatory and trade compliance, mitigate supply chain disruptions, and enforce adherence to safety regulations and SOPs for hazardous materials.
  • SOP creation, training, documentation, and fostering cross-functional collaboration for seamless operations.
  • Think critically and respond swiftly to supply disruptions or safety events, ensuring Lincoln meets or exceeds supply chain expectations.
  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of warehouse processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean methodologies, or Six Sigma projects to streamline operations.
  • Led, directed, coached, and developed an effective Warehouse Operations team responsible for all inbound and outbound material receipt & inventory management and distribution processes for raw materials.
  • As a management member of the Warehouse Logistic team, participate in governance structure design, decision-making process, as well as performance management and initiatives related to the continuous improvement of the warehouse logistic operations.
  • Ensure that all inventory management documents are current and readily available.
  • Continuously review current processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance warehouse and logistics operations.

Skills, Requirements, and Specifications

  • 7+ YEARS of experience in a warehouse/logistic environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Extensive knowledge of Logistics, Distribution & Warehouse management
  • Experience with lean Six Sigma methodologies and warehouse management systems.
  • Strong understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge and accessing Technological solutions (e.g., WMS – Warehouse Management Systems, TMS – Transportation Management Systems)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and team management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot scheduling and operations challenges.
